Your weight management program may also include dietary counseling, repletion of nutrient deficiencies, improving digestion, treating food sensitivities, optimizing blood sugar control as well as an exercise prescription. Occasionally I refer patients to holistic counselors if I am concerned that weight management is negatively influenced by stress eating and using food as a stress coping mechanism.
